POTS Line Replacement
The FCC Order 19-72A1 which removed the mandate that all POTS Lines in the USA be maintained went into effect on August 2, 2022. Now, as the copper wire continues to degrade, users are faced with rapidly rising costs or replacing their copper wires.
Simply Communicate
The dial tone as we have known it for generations has come to an end. Data-driven and wireless delivery has become the de facto communications solutions, supplanting traditional wired systems.
As a result, legacy systems have become obsolete, leaving businesses like yours with a costly upgrade to maintain voice communications.
Bridge the Digital Divide
What is your contingency plan for connecting your
analog solutions to the digital IP network?
How many analog lines do you have?
Worldwide
46.3M
Fax Machines
are still in use as of 2015,
17% of those just in the US.
It is estimated that
40M
analog fire and burglar alarm systems are currently in use.
Across the US, there are
900K
elevators in service
requiring the ability to initiate contact with outside resources.
Copper Phone Lines
Become a Thing of the Past
The PSTN (public switched telephone network) – the copper line-based communications network that has delivered phone service to US residents and businesses for decades – is being abandoned.
FCC Order 19-72A1 mandates that all POTS Lines in the USA be replaced with an alternative service by August 2, 2022. The nation’s copper line infrastructure is actively being replaced by a more efficient IP-based network.
Per the FCC mandate, carriers no longer have to offer or support POTS services. This has resulted in extreme price increases – as high as 60-100% and notices to customers that their POTS line services will soon be unavailable. This is the carrier’s way of moving customers off of the outdated technology.
POTS line customers are at a crossroads – do they pay the higher fees or do they pay for a total overhaul of their communications solution?
What are you doing to get ready for this change?
